I just created a blog on JoeUser.com, which is not my first, but I find that reading audiences don't take well to shifts in focus; it's often necessary to maintain separate blogs for separate interests. I have another blog Link that I devoted more to journalistic efforts, and that one I created largely because the publication for which I was writing seemed not to be publishing to the Web as originally planned. I can see from the counter that people are viewing the blog, but that's about as far as it goes. Just how does a writer get reactions from readers, short of writing inflammatory material aimed at starting a fight?

The funny thing is that what I've written usually does spark controversy. It seems to do that except when it appears on a blog. Once it appears on a blog, suddenly it's the ideal cure for insomnia. It's a shame the American Medical Association doesn't recommend it for their patients with sleep disorders.

Admittedly, cyberspace is just an illusion, as nobody lives there except for Cyberians.
